Masterclass Series: Understanding the Legal and Business Terminology and Concepts in English-Russian Translating and Interpreting
I’m delighted to present a series of free masterclasses that I’ll be holding going forward on English-Russian legal and business terminology and translation.
I’ll start with a two-part webinar on international commercial arbitration.
Dates:
Webinar Part 1: Monday 7th September 2020 12.00 & 17.00 BST (two identical sessions for people from different continents)
Webinar Part 2: (continuation of Webinar Part 1) Wednesday 9th September 2020 12.00 & 17.00 BST (also two identical sessions)
I may host a third webinar (Webinar Part 3) to tie up any loose ends from the previous two, on Friday 11th September depending on the number of participants and points raised that are not covered by the end of the main webinars.
Please note: This first two-part webinar will be conducted in Russian, so a certain level of proficiency in the Russian language will be required.
What are the webinars about?
Terminology and legal concepts that are common among professionals who communicate in the same language often require an extra level of accuracy and rigour during the translation process. Over the years I have learned much about the intricacies involved in translating business and legal concepts and terminology accurately so as to avoid ambiguity in what are sometimes demanding circumstances.
During these interactive webinars I will be sharing my decades of experience as a legal and business English-Russian interpreter and translator. I will be giving you tips on how to deal with converting legal and business language and terminology from English to Russian and vice versa. We will be discussing the finer points, both legal and linguistic, of international commercial arbitration, contracts, tort, companies/corporate
law, and civil procedure, among many other topics.
Who are the webinars for?
This free webinar series is for anyone who works in business English-Russian translating and interpreting. Anyone in the legal profession with clients or cases where English-Russian translation is required will also find it useful. Any English-Russian translators and interpreters with an interest in legal and business terminology are most welcome.
Those of us who are also qualified lawyers might find these lively interactive talks helpful in the run-up to meetings with Russian or English-speaking clients.
